About my practice
I am an integrative, relational psychotherapist, with a focus on the therapeutic relationship and drawing on a range of approaches. I offer online and in-person therapy for adults and adolescents aged 11 and above.
I sometimes incorporate drawing into therapy where it feels helpful. Please let me know if you are interested in this approach.
Alongside my private practice, I am a Counselling Lecturer and School Counsellor, and I also work with clients through Health Assured’s employee assistance programme.
See below for more information, including fees.
How psychotherapy works
Sessions last 50 minutes.
We will agree together how often to meet, which may be weekly or at a different frequency depending on what feels most helpful.
Therapy provides a consistent and reflective space to explore challenges, understand patterns, and work towards meaningful change.
In-person therapy
In-person sessions take place at Therapy Spaces in Surbiton, very close to Surbiton train station. There is nearby parking available and I will email full details once we arrange to meet.
Online therapy
Online sessions are conducted via secure video conferencing (Google Meet) in a confidential space.
Online therapy can be helpful if you are busy, travelling, or prefer the convenience of attending from home. You will need a private space and a stable internet connection.
Creative approaches
Drawing and other creative approaches can be included in sessions if you would like. This can be helpful if you find it difficult to put feelings into words or prefer a more expressive way of working. This can be used with both adolescents and adults.
What can you help with?
Sometimes it’s hard to talk to friends or family about how you’re feeling, or you may feel misunderstood. You might be struggling with low self-esteem, social anxiety, or concerns about your teenager’s wellbeing. Recent events may have left you feeling drained or disconnected.
I offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Together, we can work on:
Feeling more confident and connected
Managing anxiety or stress in social situations
Reflecting on personal challenges and life transitions
Finding time for yourself and processing difficult emotions
Through conversation and reflection, we’ll develop strategies to help you feel more grounded, confident, and like yourself again. My approach is professional yet approachable, to help you feel comfortable discussing your thoughts and emotions in a way that suits you.
Studies show that online therapy is just as effective as face to face therapy.
Fees
Each in-person session is £70 and each online session is £55. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Session frequency is agreed collaboratively and may vary depending on individual need and availability. Some clients choose to meet weekly, while others meet less frequently.
Where possible, agreeing a regular time can be helpful in providing structure and consistency.
Fees are paid online when you book. I use a secure payment platform called Square. Sessions need to be paid for at least 24 hours in advance of your allocated slot. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy - if you cancel the session less than 24 hours before your session time you will not receive a refund.
Concessionary rates are sometimes available e.g. for those who have a low income, let me know if this applies to you.
Please feel welcome to email me with any questions.
Location
In person sessions take place in Therapy Spaces, a very calm place where there are various therapies and treatments going on, from beauty to acupuncture. The room can be reached easily from Kingston upon Thames, Norbiton, Berrylands, Esher, Morden, Tolworth, Thames Ditton, Epsom, New Malden, Hersham, Wimbledon etc.
The address is: 16 St James’ Rd, Surbiton, KT6 4QH. It is just off Surbiton high street, opposite Surbiton train station. The space is also a 1 minute walk from the bus stops. Parking wise, there’s paid parking right outside, but this gets busy, or Waitrose is just around the corner, or there is a close by paid car park (St Philip's Rd car park).
Therapy Spaces is wheelchair accessible. I also have experience supporting wheelchair users. There’s a 100mm threshold at the entrance with a slight step (a removable ramp can be arranged) and doorways are all 800mm wide except for the toilet which (regrettably) isn’t wheelchair accessible. There are nearby accessible toilets in Waitrose and McDonalds. Please let me know if you have any questions about this and if you require an accessible room. Therapy Spaces’ has a toilet and it is gender neutral.
